A word from our president
Welcome to World Advanced University
Welcome to World Advanced University! We are a global community comprised of individuals, students, professors, administrative staff, friends, and supporters – all united by an ambitious mission. In a nutshell, our mission is to develop, curate, and impart practical knowledge to aspiring students across the US and worldwide at both undergraduate and graduate levels. By doing so, we aim to prepare our students to apply this knowledge in order to create value for themselves, their families, their organizations, and their communities.
Our goal is to achieve this by creating learning environments – both in-person and online – that are student-centered, flexible, and accessible, delivering high-quality education that leads to employment in one’s chosen field. While these terms are often associated with higher education, at World Advanced University, they hold genuine significance. Student-centered means that our students and graduates remain our primary focus in everything we do, including research and development of new teachable knowledge. Flexibility and accessibility describe our efforts to provide effective learning experiences through cutting-edge distance education options, ensuring students have access to all available learning resources, regardless of their location.
The most crucial aspect of World Advanced University’s mission is to impart high-quality education that prepares our students for work and life. Like many universities, we utilize some common metrics, such as test scores, grades, graduation rates, and post-graduation placement rates. However, we believe these measures may overlook other vital aspects. Tests and grades typically assess knowledge or the ability to complete specific tasks. World Advanced University goes beyond this by emphasizing teaching students how to tackle essential practical actions that may not be as easily defined: gathering and organizing information, making rational decisions under uncertainty, improving productive processes, innovating when traditional solutions fail, negotiating effectively, and, in general, leading others to achieve shared goals. In short, we teach the skills our students need not only to “be employed” but to excel in the modern workplace.
Returning to the concept of “community,” what does it mean? There is no better expression of community than the final sentence of the Declaration of Independence: “We mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.” This model endures. At World Advanced University, we work diligently to establish a mutual commitment to our mission and the success of every community member.
I hope you will explore all that World Advanced University has to offer.
